North Lght Community Center Seeks a "People Person"

North Light Community Center in Manayunk seeks a volunteer to assist with telephone answering, data entry, other clerical tasks (updating of bulletin boards, agency-wide calendar, etc.) and act as receptionist for visitors as needed. They'd like someone who is a "people person," has some data entry/computer keyboard skills and can commit to 10 to 15 hours per week.

Members of the Elder Wisdom Circle share their wisdom with advice seekers from across the world. The Mayor’s Office of Community Empowerment and Opportunity seeks those 55 or older to be role models, mentors and tutors for the city’s youth through the Community Empowerment and Opportunity's Foster Grandparent Program. Foster Grandparents will work with young people at local schools, hospitals, shelters, daycare centers, and Head Start programs. Participants receive a tax-free stipend, free transportation, and sick, vacation and personal leave days. If interested, call 215-685-3724.

The West Philadelphia Alliance for Children (WePAC) is looking for volunteers to join their library teams. Library volunteers read with students, check out books together and work on fun literacy activities, such as writing poems, drawing, singing and acting. No library experience required-- just a love of reading! You will need to volunteer a minimum of a 2-3 hour per week during the school year.
