Andrea Taylor
Training Director
Andrea Taylor, Ph.D., is the Director of Training with Coming of Age, as well as the Intergenerational Center at Temple University. She is also the developer and Principal Investigator of Across Ages, an evidenced-based model project funded by the Center for Substance Abuse Prevention, which involves intergenerational mentoring as an approach to positive youth development and the prevention of risk taking behavior. She has an appointment as Clinical Assistant Professor in Temple University’s College of Health Professions & Social Work, Department of Public Health. Andrea has been on staff at the Center for over 20 years.
Dr. Taylor provides consultation, training and technical assistance to a variety of private, non-profit organizations, universities, school districts, federal and state agencies, including the Center for Substance Abuse Prevention, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention, the Child Welfare League of America, the National Society for Prevention Research, and the National Council on the Aging. She currently serves on the Research and Policy Council for MENTOR/National Mentoring Partnership and was a member of the research team that developed the 2010 Elements of Effective Practice. She has published numerous articles specific to intergenerational mentoring, adolescent substance abuse prevention and positive youth development and is the author of Mentoring Across Generations: Partnerships for Positive Youth Development.
