I'm looking for Senior Women's Volleyball leagues or pickup games. Wilmington, DE has such a thing but driving that distance has gotten very old. Does anyone on this site know of Senior Women's Volleyball in the Philadelphia area?

Dear Pat:
I have tried calling a few places locally and was unable to turn up any useful information for you. I then researched Senior Games and Senior Olympics to see what I could turn up. I have only been able to get the names of the teams from these sites but I have been unable to connect with anybody to see where the teams are from.
Below is a list of male and female team names. I hope that you can use these as leads.
My other suggestion is that now that spring is about to happen organizing for the Senior Games at Shippensburg University will begin and perhaps there will be somebody there who can pinpoint locations for you.
The names of the teams are: Men 50+ Cat's Meow Pittsburgh Classics 55+ PA Keystone Seniors Pittsburgh Old Masters 60+ Keystone Seniors 65+ PA Keystone 70+ PA Keystone Misc. 50 Somethings Keystone VIPs Women 55+ Keystone Slammers 60+ Keystone Diggers Survivors 65+ Keystone Spikers The Net Set 70+ Spunky Ladies
I've always dreamed of being a dancer but I'm afraid people will laugh at my limited skills. How do I go about finding a place where I'll feel comfortable?

Not only is this a great question-- lots of people feel this way.
After you have done your research-- used our search engine, asked people you know, etc., pay a visit to the places you think are possibilities. Spend a little time with the director or person who manages the classes they offer.
In a polite, sincere way ask the question you've just put to me. Then listen to two things: what you are told and how you feel about it. Feeling comfortable in a learning setting is criterion #1 as far I'm concerned, and the way to anticipate that is via the information you receive AND your intuition.
Your guide,
Rennie (DG draft)
