The Dictionary Project
Dictionary Project Kansas City is now in its 9th year of providing free dictionaries to kids in the metropolitan KC area, as well as throughout MO and KS.
Last year, with our partners’ help, we presented over 35,000 free dictionaries throughout the two states, with the most of them going to kids in the Kansas City area. We are looking for volunteers to go into the schools and present dictionaries to the third graders
We are looking for volunteers to go into the schools and present dictionaries to the third graders. There is no “cold-calling” involved. The schools will already have asked for dictionaries for the kids.
We box the books, and arrange to get the books into the volunteer’s hands. We supply all of the information needed to contact the school, as well as a script and a video to help make the presentation a success.
We allow the volunteer to call the school and set up an appointment time that meets the needs of both the volunteer and the school.
