Capturing the Energy and Expertise of Adults Age 50+
"I feel like I really know how to market my opportunities to people 50+ now I'm doing it, and I'm getting results!" Participant, May - June '07 Philadelphia Learning Lab
"This is too good to keep in the room. We need to share these techniques for engaging people age 50+ with our colleagues!" Participant, May - June '07 San Francisco Learning Lab
Who knew that there was so much interest in and enthusiasm for
learning how to capture the energy and expertise of adults 50+ and
infusing their knowledge, talents and skills into local organizations?
We're in the business of promoting just that. And we
were surprised. Not only did we have five times the number of
applicants we expected for our Learning Labs here last spring, we also
were invited and went to San Francisco to train there.
But our heart isn't in San Francisco; it's in Philadelphia. Which is why once again Coming of Age is pleased to offer you the opportunity to participate in our Learning Lab:
"Capturing the Energy and Expertise of Adults Age 50+"
Click here to register. This is an expanded Learning Lab with enhanced content based on the three Labs we already have presented. It is an intensive program to help you:
- Attract more adults 50+ to connect and contribute to your organization
- Engage skilled people 50+ who can assist you with everything from legal matters to web design
- Apply new strategies to strengthen your capacity to achieve your mission
- Gain insights from being part of a learning collaborative with colleagues from other organizations
Some specifics: The Learning Lab will:
- Be held at Temple University Center City, 1515 Market St., Philadelphia
- Consist of seven half-day Wednesday morning sessions from 9:00 am to 12:15 pm. (With continental breakfast provided at 8:30)
- Include technical assistance to help you move your ideas into action
- Begin on October 17, 2007
The curriculum is based on state-of-the-art research on critical
issues about engaging people age 50+ in meaningful service. Session
leaders are subject matter experts from the Temple University Center
for Intergenerational Learning. All are highly skilled at helping you
mine the talent and expertise of this expanding and evolving resource.
To get the most out of the Lab we recommend that your organization register two representatives (e.g., the executive director, volunteer manager or coordinator, and any other staff member who is involved managing paid and unpaid opportunities).
Thanks to the generous support from the Jesse Ball duPont Fund, we are able to offer this Lab as a highly subsidized opportunity worth over $850 per participant at the greatly reduced fee of $150 for one participant from an organization; and $200 for two.
