Volunteer at the U.S. Open Golf Tournament and Support LBFE!
Enjoy a day of golf and the outdoors at the prestigious Olympic Club while supporting Little Brothers - Friends of the Elderly (LBFE)! LBFE is a non-profit organization that works to relieve isolation and loneliness among the elderly in San Francisco. By working at the 7th green concession stand at the U.S. Open, you will help earn funds for LBFE.
LBFE has been given the opportunity to send volunteers to work at the U.S. Open from Monday, June 11th to Sunday, June 17th. We are still in need of 250 volunteers to work eight hour shifts at the 7th green concession stand throughout this week. As a volunteer, you'll receive free parking and have a great view of the tournament, all the while supporting a wonderful non-profit. You'll also have the opportunity to walk the golf course before and after your shift. The shifts are from 6am to 2pm, 9am to 5pm, and 11am to close, from Monday through Sunday. All shifts are still available, but the weekend shifts are filling up quickly! Currently, our greatest need is to fill the weekday shifts. LBFE has the potential to raise nearly $25,000 through this event to support its programs! Your support at this event will help us to continue providing companionship and joy to lonely and isolated seniors in San Francisco. Below are additional details regarding the tournament: Responsibilities: Grilling, stocking, and wrapping food and working the cash registers. Age requirement: You must be at least 14-years-old to volunteer at this event. Dress code: White shirt and khaki or black pants or shorts. Closed-toe and closed-heel shoes are also required. Shift details: Volunteers will receive a 30 minute break during each shift. The 11am to close shift will end approximately between 5pm and 7pm. Parking: Free parking will be available at Candlestick Park. Buses will transport volunteers for free between Candlestick Park and the Olympic Club. For those riding BART, there will be a free shuttle from the Colma station to the Olympic Club. Orientation: All volunteers must attend an hour-long orientation in May. Please spread the word about this exciting opportunity to your friends, family, and co-workers! In your email, please indicate the days and times you are interested in volunteering.
