Science Program Facilitator or Assistant

Our Science Horizons Program seeks to come alongside of under-resourced elementary schools to help facilitate hands-on, experiential science opportunities. We offer in-class support, after-school programs, as well as a 3-day outdoor science camp for 5th grade classes. Our Science Horizons Director is a retired science teacher of 15 years in the Oakland Unified School District and he continues to be passionate about inspiring kids by bringing science to life.

Time Requirement:

2 hours/week

Specific Activities:

Work in a team to help facilitate or assist with our Science Horizons program at one of our partner schools.

Qualifications:

No Experience is necessary, simply a desire to engage with kids and to help them discover the world that surrounds them.

Orientation and New Volunteer Procedures:

Training will be provided by our Science Horizons Program Director. Also, each volunteer is required to complete a Faith Network Registration Form, as well as provide documentation of a negative TB Test in the last 3 years, and complete a LiveScan Background Check.
