Clinic by the Bay is a free, volunteer-powered health clinic located in the Excelsior neighborhood of San Francisco. We are part of the national network of Volunteers in Medicine clinics; we engage retired and practicing health providers and nonmedical volunteers to provide compassionate, high quality care, free of charge, to working uninsured adults in the community. Clinic by the Bay will be opening a small dental program for its established patients in June 2013. We are looking for volunteer Dentists, Dental Assistants, and Hygienists to provide basic dental care including assessment, treatment planning, x-rays and cleanings using mobile equipment and digital radiography.

Friends of the Oakland Public School Libraries (FOPSL) help create libraries by updating and automating book collections in Oakland public schools where libraries were closed due to budget cuts. This semester our regular workdays are from Tuesdays from 9-4 at Sobrante Park and Thursdays 9-3:30 at Brookfield. We also look for volunteers with a consistent block of time each week who would like to help with book circulation and work with students and teachers across the district.
